1. How and when did you first discover CrossFit?
My sister, Brittany, had been doing CrossFit for several years before I started. She kept asking me to try it because she knew I would really enjoy the CrossFit style of workout. Being the older brother I didn’t listen to my little sister and of course she was right, once I started going to classes at Cannon I was hooked.
2. What do you think sets Cannon apart from other gyms you have attended or workouts you’ve done in the past?
There are other CrossFit gyms? There is no way their coaches are as good as Cannon’s. Jeff Smith was even a pretty good CrossFit coach once upon a time!
3. What changes have you seen in yourself (physically and mentally) since joining the gym?
Ha! When I started going to Cannon I hadn’t worked out on a regular basis since high school! I could roll about as fast as I could run! It didn’t take long before I could see and feel the difference in my health. I have more energy to chase my little girls around and I can definitely throw them further in the pool now.
4. What goal have you achieved in the gym that you are most proud of? What future goals are you more excited about pursuing?
CrossFit and the Cannon coaches put me on the right track to fitness and a healthier way of living, and inspired me to push myself to limits I hadn’t thought possible before. This past January my wife and I completed our first half marathon together. One of these days I would like be able to do more than a couple of DU’s at a time.
